Trimark Mechanical HVAC Installer
Trimark Mechanical Services is currently seeking a HVAC Installer for its growing HVAC division. Under general supervision, the Senior HVAC Installer performs a variety of skilled tasks involved in the installation of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) units; and performs related duties as assigned. Work is divided between climate-controlled buildings and the field, which includes a wide range of weather conditions with temperatures ranging from below 40 degrees to above 100 degrees. Incumbents may be required to be on stand-by or work during evenings, weekends, and holidays. Incumbents must be willing to wear a uniform.
Essential functions may include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Installs, removes, maintains HVAC equipment to code, professionally,
- Completely cleans jobsite at the end of each day.
- Take the lead on an installation crew to insure quality and efficiency.
- Update knowledge of new equipment as it enters the HVAC market
- Residential and light commercial equipment installation on roofs, basements, ceilings, data rooms whatever area necessary.
Distinguishing Characteristics: This classification is distinguished as being at the journeyman-level or higher and having responsibility for performing the full range of Heating, Ventilation, and Cooling (HVAC) installation.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- The principles and practices of HVAC installation to code
- Hazards and safety practices to OSHA requirements
- Crane rigging, duct jacks, specialty equipment as would be necessary for light commercial application.
- Ability to use trade tools such as recovery machines, vacuum pumps, oxy/acetylene torches/micron gauges.
- Procedures efficiently and professionally installing HVAC equipment including start-up testing
Ability to:
- Provide detailed material list(s) for installations including equipment and labor requirements
- Complete jobs, help provide solutions to installation challenges.
- Track refrigerant use per EPA requirements
- Follow oral and written instructions
- Keep truck stocked and ready, communicate equipment, material needs quickly.
- Coordinate the work of others to efficiently complete installations of equipment.
Physical Characteristics
- Strong Communication Skills
- Mobility sufficient to enter and exit confined spaces, climb and descend ladders in a safe manner, walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
- Dexterity sufficient to operate manual and power tools, light and heavy duty equipment and other equipment utilized in the course of work
- Ability to lift and move heavy items weighing up to 25 pounds on a frequent basis and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds with assistance;
- Endurance sufficient to maintain efficiency on the job and stand as necessary for extended periods of time.
